Fabrique flowers

 
I finally used my Fabrique for something other than cotton!!!!! I can't wait to try some other heavier fabrics. I bought some pressed felt at Jo-Anns, its not the regular fuzzy felt, but still has a similar texture. I cleaned my hands free mat and applied a fresh coat of the spray adhesive, I then put my felt on the mat (no need for fusible web for the felt) and cut some flowers using the Applique Basics design card. Make sure you have a sharp blade to cut the thicker materials. Next I ironed the fusible web to my fabric and cut out the pink layer for the flowers. I ironed the pink fabric onto the black felt. I used my irock from Imaginisce to adhere the silver studs on the flowers. I stitched on buttons for the flower centers and then used my hot glue gun to glue the flowers to a hair clip and pins. I am not sure how the felt would wash so I didn't want to sew the flowers onto the shirt. This way I can also rearrange the flowers or put them on different tops. This was a super easy way to make some fun accessories to my little girl.

I love sketches!!! This sketch is from a National Scrapbook Challenge from Studio Calico, yes I know I am a little late to the party this year :) I used the Vintage Findings design card for the tags and the Happy Trails card for the stars. The papers are from the Candy Shoppe Studio Calico kit.

I made my Mother's Day card using the Think Pink design card and the Sabrina line from Making Memories. I really struggle with cards so its pretty simple. For the flower I cut out the shadow and the regular image and added a foam square in the middle for a little dimension.

Hope you the Moms out there have a wonderful Mother's Day!!! I am going to a Mother's Day Tea with my Mom and then off to do some shopping. My goal is to get some new pictures of my Mom and I together!

Dilly Dally Banner and a Giveaway!!!!!

 
 

I bought these windows out of the back of some guy's pickup a few months ago and haven't known what to do with them. I finally decided to make a little Spring banner, I figured its a fun way to dress it up a bit without making a commitment :) I used the Dilly Dally design card to make the banner shapes and flowers, I made the circles with the Basic Elements design card. I used foam squares to make the flowerspop a bit. The papers are from the Making Memories Dilly Dally line and the baker's twine if from The Twinery. The paper has glitter on it and the Slice is able to cut through it with no problems!

I love the Dilly Dally design card so much I asked my friend at Making Memories if we could give one away! Owl Shirt

 

This may be my favorite Slice project yet!!!! I used the Fabrique Animal Frenzy Piecing design card. With the piecing design cards you are able to make designs larger than the standard 4 inch Slice cut. I got the t-shirt at Target for $5, used more of my fabric quarters that I got at JoAnns for $1 and some fusible web. I stitched to give it a more finished look, the stitching took me forever so I may not do that again. I may have to make myself a matching shirt :)

For this layout I used the Turkey Daze Design Card font for the word JUMP, Vintage Findings for the banner, and Basic Elements for the brackets and scalloped circles. The papers, glitter tape, stickers, and bling are all from the Making Memories Paper Reverie line.

Baby T-shirt

 

Last week at the Carter's store I found these cute little snap tees on clearance for $1.99 for a 5-pack!!! My mind started churning and I bought all 6 packs they had! I am always needing baby gifts, my plan is to make a bunch of these cute little shirts and have them all ready to go.

 

I don't sew much, but I love cutting fabric with my Slice Elite. When JoAnns had fabric quarters on sale for .99 I stocked up with all kinds of colors and prints. I ironed the fabric onto the Making Memories Fusible Web and sprayed my hands free mat with Slice repositionable spray adhesive. Using the Applique Basics design card I cut out butterfly shapes in different colors and then ironed them onto the shirt. I think these shirts will make great little baby gifts!!

Easter Buckets

 
 

I saw these great little buckets in the dollar spot at Target and thought they would make perfect little treat buckets. Using my Slice Elite, hands free mat, and various colors of vinyl I started making the kids each a bucket. I used the Farm Life design card to cut out the bunnies, the Greetings design card for Tyler's name, the eggs, and the grass, and the Basic Elements design card for Hannah's name and the flowers. I love the dimension that the shadow feature gives and used it on the names and the flowers. The egg shape is the shadow feature of the bunny in an egg design. I don't think the grass is really meant to be grass, but it worked great :) One of my favorite things about using vinyl is that its easy to move around if needed.

I paid $1 for each bucket and used vinyl scraps which made this a great little project for not a lot of money. I hope you enjoyed my first project!! Check back tomorrow for a great baby gift idea :)

Welcome to my blog!!!

I am taking the plunge and starting a blog!!! Not sure that I have that interesting of a life that people want to hear all the silly details, this will be more of a crafty blog with a little of my life thrown in the mix. I absolutely love the Slice by Making Memories and use it for all kinds of crafty projects!

I am a stay at home mom to 2 kids. Tyler is in second grade and Hannah will start Kindergarten in the Fall. I am also a proud Air Force Wife!! My days are spent shuttling kids here and there, volunteering at school, on base, and in my community. After the kids go to bed is usually my craft time.

I hope you enjoy my projects and are inspired to create on your own!!!
